JAMES P. GUEITS
Of Counsel
Gueits’ practice focuses on the representation of various parties involved in real estate and banking transactions, including developers, institutional lenders, and private equity groups. Mr. Gueits has broad experience advising clients during the acquisition, development and financing of real estate projects. As lender’s counsel, Mr. Gueits has represented several banks and other providers of commercial credit throughout the documentation and closing of revolving and term loan facilities, including working capital lines of credit, financing of foreign receivables and other asset based loans. Gueits also actively represents condominium associations and owners alike on various aspects of condominium law.
Gueits serves on the Board of Directors of the Doral Business Council and participates on the Council’s Government and Economic Development Committees. He is also a trustee member of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, where he participates on the Local Advocacy Committee. Gueits has served on the International Business Development Committees for both Chambers. He is also a member of the Cuban American and Coral Gables Bar Associations.
Gueits previously served the Honorable Chief District Judge Federico A. Moreno as a judicial intern at the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Gueits also worked as a judicial intern for the Honorable Peter R. Lopez of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida.
Gueits received his Juris Doctor Cum Laude from St. Thomas University School of Law where he was the Moot Court Board President, an Articles Editor for the Law Review and named the Best Oral Advocate of his class. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Miami. He is admitted to practice law in the State of Florida and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
